Sierra del Divisor is geologically distinct from the Andes. UNESCO's description of the park identifies sandstone hills in the west, mountain formations in the east, and volcanic cones in the south. El Cono and Cerro San Lucas rise more than 900 meters above sea level, abrupt forms within an otherwise low forest plain.

From a small aircraft, that difference becomes legible. Ridges detach from the canopy; waterways flash beneath the wing; cloud and vibration repeatedly close the view. The photographs depend on short alignments of altitude, angle, and light.

Protected as a national park since 2015, the region is also a network of headwaters connected to the Ucayali and Amazon river systems. The aerial perspective reveals its structure, but not mastery over it: forest and exposed form, mapped geography and persistent concealment remain in tension.
