More deliberate choices while shooting
Read the light, choose a position, and know when to wait, direct, or make the frame.
Private sessions with Anthon Cauper for photographers who want direct help with a current shoot, edit, or body of work.

Private, arranged by request
Bring a current shoot, an unfinished edit, or a body of work in progress. We will identify where the process is breaking down and work through the relevant decisions together.
What changes after the session
Read the light, choose a position, and know when to wait, direct, or make the frame.
Receive specific notes on the images you bring and the problems they reveal.
Leave with notes for selection, color, retouching, and export that you can apply after the session.
Decide which photographs belong together, which ones weaken the sequence, and what the series still needs.
What we work on
I review what you send before we meet. The session then follows the decisions that matter most to your work.
We begin with the scene: where you stand, what the light is doing, when to wait, and when direction will help. Then we test those choices against the photographs you are trying to make.
Using your files, we move through selection, color, retouching, and export. Each adjustment has a reason, and you leave with a sequence you can repeat on the rest of the work.
The practice behind the session
Painting trained my attention before I owned a camera. Documentary work in the Peruvian Amazon taught me to wait, while portrait and editorial assignments taught me when to direct. The session draws from whichever part of that practice is useful to the photographs you bring.
Edges, color, proportion, and the position of a figure inside the frame still guide how I read an image.
Working in real conditions taught me to observe first, respond quickly, and avoid forcing a scene into a preconceived picture.
Direction, light, selection, and finishing change with the assignment. We isolate the choices that matter to your project.
From request to session
Share the project, your experience level, and the part of the process you want help with.
I review the material and reply with a recommended format, preparation, scope, and price.
We work through the agreed shooting, editing, retouching, or critique topics together.
You leave with notes, next steps, and a process you can continue on your own.
Your first message is an inquiry, not a payment. I will review the work, recommend a format, and send the scope and price before you decide.
